John Alekna has been involved in acoustic and theatre design consulting since 1989 after graduating from the University of Technology, Sydney in 1988 with a degree in Applied Physics. John established the Brisbane office for Sydney based RFA Acoustic Design in 1993 and managed the office for over 10 years for RFA, and then Hyder Consulting from 2002. John joined Marshall Day Acoustics in 2003.
John has unique experience in providing high quality and intelligible sound in performing arts venues. John has been involved in sound and lighting production for live music, and has designed or assessed sound reinforcement systems for auditoria, community and professional theatres, stadia, high powered portable systems and other installations. John also has extensive experience in building acoustics design.
Since joining Marshall Day, John has been involved in the successful design and specification of sound and AV systems in many venues with including Hamer Hall, Melbourne, The Concourse, Chatswood, the new stage management systems at the Sydney Opera House, and several stadiums in Melbourne and Perth.
