Sean Syman

Sean joined the Marshall Day Acoustics Wellington office at the start of 2015, after completing his Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) at the University of Canterbury. Sean was drawn to acoustics through his passion in music and guitar building. In 2015, Sean, along with his team from the University of Canterbury, were awarded the IPENZ Ray Meyer Medal for Excellence in Student Design for their 2014 final year project; “Eddy Current Braked Zipline Trolley”, sponsored by Holmes Solutions.

Since joining Marshall Day, Sean has worked on a range of projects in the fields of environmental noise, building acoustics and room acoustics. He has expertise in 3D environmental noise modelling, environmental noise measurement and assessment and sound insulation / building noise control.
